	Not necessary - you can just add 'options "SLMTU=1006"' to
your configuration file, same as for FreeBSD 1.1.5.1, config and make.
If you have already used this configuration file before, you can
do "rm if_sl.o; make" instead of "make clean; make depend; make".
(This assumes that SLMTU is only used in if_sl.c - which it is, with
the current kernel sources at least.)

	I did this a couple of days back, and got 25% better
throughput on ftp transfers on my DES-encrypted 14.4k modem...
