% whereis login
login: /usr/ucb/login /usr/bin/login /usr/share/man/man1/login.1

I believe that there are two seperate login files because an "ls -l"
doesn't show either file as being a link. /usr/ucb/ isn't even in my path,
so I will try to edit /usr/bin/login.

Up until here, I was with you. What is NULL? Or more precisely, how do I
represent NULL on my keyboard so I can replace that first chracter with
it?

Thanks
