I had a similar problem. Uucico makes lock files in /usr/spool/lock
and tip in /usr/spool/uucp. Since I have the impression that tip is a
bit unused and the rest of FreeBSD community seems to prefer the SysV
style of locking, I patched tip to make such lock files.

This only for better portability of future package I may install. My
initial intention was to patch uucico...
