All of your questions completely describe why I want to boost the
mtu rate.  I want faster ftp and www transfer.  My service provider
is running at 1006 and I have it set at the default 296.  I would
like to equal these numbers.  I think that is the major problem with 
my connection.  I can figure out how to change it.  Some people have
mentioned to dive into the source code.  I am reluctant to do that,
but I will if I have to.
