FreeBSD 1.1.5.1
SoundBlaster value edition
Generic PC printer port

I have IRQ 3,4,5,9(2),and 10 taken up by serial ports. This means my SB
has to fit into IRQ 7 with an interruptless printer driver. The problem
is that lpa0 doesn't seem to work at all (not to mention having LOTS of
dire warnings about not using it) and setting the printer to:

device lpt0 at isa? port? tty

leaves me in a state where I lose beaucoup characters (at least 50% of
them) when printing. Actually using the SB seems to have no effect on this.

Do I have a broken printer port (say, one that asserts ready too soon)
or is it something more subtle. I *think* I have the printer's IRQ turned
off in the hardware. I have a shortage of docco on it (anyone have a
clue about a "Courier-II I/O card").
