I am trying to install NetBSD-1.0, but I am having some problems. I am
switching over from Linux. I have the Install notes and the 386BSD faq,
but I am still unsure on how to do the installation. I can get all the way
up to unpacking all the sets and sources, running Configure, copying the
kernel. During the install process I was able to get my ethernet card
(3C509) to work, but once the installation is done and I try to boot directly
from the hard drive, it doesn't work. I used the command:
ifconfig ep0 myip.address netmask 255.255.0.0 link0 link1
to get it to work in the install process, and I put those same options in on
the configure process. That is the only hardware problem I seem to have,
but I am not sure how to get other things such as nameservers and
other things working. I would be very grateful if someone had a walkthrough
that they could send me or is willing to help me out. Please email me directly
so we don't clutter up this group. Thanks.
