Eric Raymond used to publish a guide to buying PC hardware
for unix. Is he still doing this? Does anyone have a recent
copy that they could send me?

Two other HW questions. I looked in the FAQ, but the answers
were unclear to me.

1) Does FreeBSD support Trident 8900 svga cards?

2) FreeBSD supports SCSI based CD-ROM. Fine. Any SCSI CDROM?
Or only some? What is this business with the Mitsumi (sp?)? Is
that special in some way? Also, does the speed of the drive
matter? 2X? 3X, 4X?

Thanks,
