I have been problems getting 386bsd to work on my system (as outlined in
a previous post). Anyway, I think that it is linked to bad blocks on my
HD. I was wondering if anyone could explain how blocks on the file
system map to cylinders and heads, or if there is a way to make newfs
read the bad block table for my hd before booting it.

There are bad blocks early enough in the device to get into the inode
tables. Any suggestions on how to get it working would be very helpful.
I am looking forward to getting the system working (I just trashed
linux for 386bsd, and am missing unix, might switch to mach if I can't
get 386bsd working).

thanks again,
alex
