I would just like to say two things: first congratulations on a job
well done are well deserved by the FreeBSD Team. Jordan, Nate, and all
others who I don't want to offend even though their names aren't on
the tip of my tongue right now, the 2.0 Release is a great product. I
love the increase in serial speed and the new installation script the
most. Second I've only seen one class of problems and that's with the
syscons driver and the cons25 termcap entry. This morning I went to
test whether or not my copy of sendmail had the debug option enabled
and typed:

	chilton# telnet localhost 25
	[Sendmail replies...]
	debug

Right after I hit return on the debug line I got four lines of
brightly colored control characters. This appears to be an
intermittant as I cannot repeat it. I can repeat the termcap bug
however. I ftped gemacs-19.28 from prep.ai.mit.edu and configured and
built it as follows:

	$ ./configure i386--freebsd --with-x --prefix=/usr/local

This compiled straight out of the box and gave me an executable which
runs but doesn't properly handle the screen. try the man command by
M-x man XF86_W32 and you'll see that emacs doesn't properly erase the
minibuffer as it prints what it's doing. It erases all but the first
column. This doesn't happen if you do exactly the same command but
your TERM variable is set to ansi. I figure that this is an inaccurate
Termcap description or a subtle bug in the console driver. Has anyone
else seen this. If so please send me a patch if any. Otherwise I'll
dig into it next week when I'm back from vacation.

X.
