I got my FreeBSD 2.0R CDROM just before Christmas and have been slowly
absorbing information since then so I may get some of this wrong...

In the FreeBSD FAQ:

The first sentence should read: "Yes, but you'll have to recompile the
kernel."

Additionally, it should refer to PPP.doc which is also in the FAQ
directory.

In a previous post, you mention that to recompile the kernel you'd need
(at least) the kernel distribution. Am I missing something, or is there
no way to get the kernel sources without first installing the complete
source distribution? (requiring an additional 120 MB or free disk space)

Would it be possible to create a separate kernel distribution?

Could the install program give a choice to install one of several
pre-built kernels? (one which would include PPP support)

Otherwise, it appears to be impossible to get PPP running on a 100 MB
FreeBSD partition. (Someone please tell me that I'm wrong here.... :^)

Thanks,
-Randy
