Everybody got X running but me...

I have installed the complete 386-dist and X386BSD binaries.
After modification of the kernel, applying two patches and increasing
the swap partition, my system is reasonably stable now.

Well

When i start X with xinit, i receive the two lines of banner and the machine
just hangs infinitely iuntil rebooted.

My config is:

466 / 33 Mhz
486 /33 Mhz 16 Mb ram
SCSI Adaptec 1542 with Miniscribe 9380 ( 300 Mb )
com1, com2 and lpt1
Tseng Labs vga with ET4000
Western Digital WE 8003E

I have 32 Mb of swap

This configuration

If somebody have an idea of whats failing pls give me a e-mail.

The most logical reason of failure is of course myself, but there can
as well be something undocumented.

Hints and suggestions is warmly welcome.
