Let's not get into a great debate, but just some more info.

This is probably a good thing for performance.

UnixWare has strcasecmp() in /usr/ucblib/libucb.a, please keep your
facts straight.

We provide an R5 server on xserver@summit.novell.com. There are several
third party X servers such as Metrolink and X inside, though I believe
that UnixWare's is excellent. I do know that our bench mark numbers are
some of the best. Kumar periodically posts X benchmarks for various
cards here. I would use this info for a source of comparison. In terms
of extensions that is many of the third parties claims to fame.

Sorry, but olwm IS DEAD. Motif has won. I am not saying that this is
good, I thought Open Look was nice. Our Open Look was extended with
the MoOlit stuff to include a Motif like look and feel. Though, as I
stated above we now just use mwm.

AGREED! I happen to use the MIT xterm from ftp.novell.com.

I was hoping that you would. You were the one making claims. I just want
facts. And, If Solaris has better features, GREAT competition is good.
We want to make UnixWare the best environment, not a bad thing to shoot
for.

There is a fix for the whatis stuff. Though, I tend to use the new
dynatext browser in UnixWare 2.0 for manuals. I happen to mostly use
the X environment. I know some people are still character based. Their
opinions need to be kept in mind.

We have catman pages as well, that just prevents the nroff processing.

Again, all I am soliciting for is facts. Lets disect these two OSes and
compare the features objectively. My point in this whole mess was to
explain to the original poster not to accept subjective statements by
anyone (Solaris or UnixWare). Make his own criteria and match the OS to
it.
