Sorry, but this whole thing is getting silly.  OS such-and-such exists because
someone thought that there is a demand for it and that someone would buy it. 
And if an OS has been around for a while there are two options of what might
have happened.  Either there is a giant backing the uselessness of an OS with
financial power or someone else thought that there is a use for an OS and
evidently bought it.

Accept that different OS are made for different demands. Ok?  As much as there
are different demands there are different ways to satisfy these demands, and
one of them is also to leave customers unsatisfied.  I've worked with HP, SUN,
IBM, Cray (and a whole bunch more vendors, no particular order) and they all 
have problems.

Get real. And stop being religious. And also this thread.
