BS is BS and truth is truth, it is not too often that a product,
developed(with full appreciation to Linus), added to, supported,
and maintained soley by users, for users comes along, and gains the
popularity that linux has. It isn't just whether or not it is better
than this or that, but the concept that no one person should be able
to dictate the direction of this industry. Linux and FreeBSD both
support the ideal in how O/S's should be in form, and how they are
distributed, with no one to charge you $50 to $299 for an upgrade as
long as you have your registration, along with a ton of cash for worthless
add-ons. Let's face it, I really don't know about FreeBSD but yggdrasil(?) and
slackware linux distributions come with just about everything(excepting
a decent Word Processor), and for the average user, in both cases I'm sure,
works just fine.
