What version do you have? I am running FreeBSD 1.1.0.5 and PPP is standard
equipment er.. make that ALMOST standard equipment :-#)

The daemon is /usr/libexec/pppd. Sources are in /usr/src/libexec/pppd as
   expected.

You WILL need to rebuild your kernel. Add the line "pseudo-device ppp 1"
to your kernel config file and rebuild.

And it does work, as I'm running it right now. I also grabbed sources
out of ftp.uu.net for a newer version, and got those to compile.

What I really want though, is a PPPD for FreeBSD that will redial the
modem after a hangup. This is for a dedicated slip connection. I can
see some ways that I can hack it up to do this, just wondering if someone
already has been through this.

Thanks
