: You may want to explain us why most Sun users are running SunOS 4.1.x
: (BSD based) and why Sun is still selling and supporting this "obsolete"
: version, since they tried (and are trying) very hard to make Solaris 2.x
: their flagship OS.

: You could also explain us why SysVR4 has integrated _a lot_ of BSD
: features (sockets, remote commands, to name only a few).

And not to mention that IBM's AIX has incorporated most(?) BSD features
(along with most(?) SVR5 features) - heck, those /bin, /usr/bin and /usr/sbin
directories are a nightmare with all their "compatability links"!!

I worked on AIX for the first time today, and was even (pleasantly)
surprised that they don't use those idiotic SVR5 r?.d directories
for starting up - what a pleasure to edit nice little rc.* startup
files. :-) I may even get to like AIX - *shock* *horror*! :-)

All that from one of the "newer" operating systems - makes you think
doesn't it?
