Summary: What filters/printcap are required?

Hi all,

I'd like to get lpr working on a FreeBSD 1.1.5.1 system with
a QMS-PS-410 intelligent PostScript printer. The FAQ describes
how to get a "dumb" printer going, but says little about
fancier printers. In particular, thers's no parallel port on
the system, so the printer has to be controlled through
a 16550-equipped serial port.

The printer is able to emulate an Apple LaserWriter, so probably
the printcap entry in Nemeth, Snyder and Seebas can be used,
unless somebody has a better one. The most immediate questions
now are what filter to use, and what output device file (a link
from /dev/lpt to /dev/tty00?)

thanks for reading!
