I've been running tin-1.22 for months (no, not continuously) without
problems relating to FreeBSD. tin seems to hang if the connection is
flaky, but that's just due to a long timeout and doesn't affect the
machine as a whole, so I'd say it's not tin.

Any diagnostics in /var/log/messages or on the console? Problems with
other networking programs (gopher, Mosaic)?
