I have run both Linux and 386bsd/FreeBSD/Netbsd and SunOS. I am currently
running FreeBSD on my 486 at home and NetBSD on my Sparc 1+ at work. I do
prefer *BSD becuase it is much closer to SunOS then Linux in many places.
Also I do prefer a "real" UN*X system then a multitasking OS for a PC (linux).

Agreed, in the begining Linux was great, and taught me alot about kernels and
file system layouts etc. I started with Linux 0.12, and stopped at around 0.95
and moved to 386bsd-0.1 when it was available. I later looked at Linux again,
but the community had changed, and my ideas clashed with what was going on.

Anyway, I enjoy *BSD, and when it comes to applications, almost anything on the
net can be built, maybe with some effort in a few cases, but not many.

A choice of OS can be a personal thing... :-) It is a matter of taste, and
what your needs are.
