ok....i can 'install' from any of 3 floppies that i have
with various dist.fs that i have accumulated but none of
them can do the mread of the BIN01.* files.

i discovered that only floppies w/ zero bad blocks are
to be used!

but i cant load the BIN01.* files to do an extract.

a bug FAQ that i have mentions creating a /dev entry with
MAKDEV but all that does is a 'mknod' so i tried a few
incantations but no luck...

i have none of the BIN01.* files loaded!
mread "a:*.*" /tmp gives an error as follows

	cant initialize A:

i tried poking at various news archives but no luck.
