As far as I can tell, all the Pro Audio cards have the same hardware
engine wrt to sound. The differences are in the on-board SCSI and the
software that is bundled in with the card. 
(ie. if you buy the basic card , you don't get the voice recognition stuff
or the mic.)

I just bought a Pro Audio Basic 16... However I did not have time to try
it out under FreeBSD yet. I should know more after the weekend if you
are still interested.
