You should be able to recompile it that way by simply editing policy.h
and typing make.  I haven't looked at it on 386BSD, but I assume it is
shipped already configured (that is, conf.h and Makefile have been
created).  If not, you will also have to type configure.

The patches I have received for 386BSD have been relatively trivial,
and will be incorporated in the next version.
