I have a single dialin line on a box running FreeBSD 1.1.5.1 and the
dialins are giving me a headache. The line won't connect until the third
call, it just gives the modem connect message remotely and drops
carrier. I suspect that the modem is echoing RING and CONNECT and that
it's driving getty wild.

The other problem is that the modem doesn't hangup after a logout and if
carrier drops the silly thing doen't kill the shell and spawn a new getty.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
