Thanks for those who replyed by e-mail to my question, regarding the
libXpm with no shared lib version generated by the compilation. I
can't list each name here, but I got really many responses.

Environment:

 + XFree86-2.1.1, SVGA server
 + FreeBSD-1.1.5.1

I think I found out something is wrong on my copy of XFree86-2.1.1.

From the Imake.rules:

 * The following are in specific <os>Lib.rules:
 *
 * SharedLibraryTarget          (libname,rev,solist,down,up)

And all I get for that are the following 6 files:

 % ls *Lib.rules
 ibmLib.rules	sgiLib.rules	sv3Lib.rules
 lnuxLib.rules	sunLib.rules	sv4Lib.rules
 %

(1) am I not missing `freebsdLib.rules' or something like that?

(2) if not, is any of the above supposed to do the job in place of
   <os>Lib.rules for the FreeBSD?

Your comment will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
junichi
