As soon as you want to add a 3rd disk with IDE, life becomes fun.
Also, as soon as you start going to disk sizes over 500M, there is not
much available in the way of IDE (at least not over here).

(Problem is, what you get is often a matter of what you can afford
right now -- that often happens to be IDE -- sigh.)
