The last release version is 1.1.5.1. The bsd4.4 based FreeBSD 2.0 is not
yet available as a stable version. It will be soon.

Yes. It is easy. You do not need dos but only the 3 FreeBSD floppies
to start formating the disk, create partitions (fs and swap), and
install tools needed to load the complete binary distribution (from
floppies, tape, ...).

X11R5 / X11R6, and WM they can use.
