I recently set it up on sunos 4.1.3, sunos 5.2, sunos 5.3 and FreeBSD 1.1.5
and
apart from some minor (subjectively speaking) changes needed to get it to 
compile on the Solaris machines, there was no problem. I haven't looked at
bsdi for long enough to see the major differences, but since popper doesn't
do
anything incredibly unusual you should have no problems.
