Proxy-arp is broken in FreeBSD 1.1.5.1. I have the same
problem using my home machine to talk to my LAN'ned work
machines. About the best/only way to make this work is to
do the arp -s on your work machine, and leave the proxyarp
option off your PPP line. Proxyarp not only is broken, it
somehow screws up your ability to 'kill' a session. The
session just hangs there until you kill -9 it... I have
email out to some folks who wrote the pppd program, and have
yet to really hear anything. (proxyarp DOES work on our Suns).
Anyone feel ambitious enough to play with this before 2.0
comes out????
