If so, you have been told HORRIBLY wrong!  But how could you possibly
believe such hogwash anyway???  The copyright in the derived work is
of course JOINT between the original copyright's holder and the author
of the derived work itself.  Did you REALLY believe, for example, that
the movie "My Fair Lady" was the ***SOLE*** PROPERTY of Shaw's estate...?
