Victor, 

I would expect to find two details that need to be changed.

First, there is likely a cmos set-up entry that tells the system
which drive to look at first, that needs to be set to the look
at the A: drive first.

The other thing that needs to be changed, if things have progressed
that far at some past effort, it to use 'dos' fdisk to set the
BSD partition active. I have the sort of recolection that at
one point an install somehow didn't do that for me... and doing
it 'fixed' that problem.
