I tried to get my 3c509 ethernet card working with FreeBSD1.1.5.1
I added
device ep0 at isa? port 0x200 net irq 10 vector epintr
in my config file. The interface is recognized at startup.
When I try to do a ping to another machine on the same network, I
get no reply. tcpdump shows that an arp request goes out to get the
ethernet address for the host I ping to. I see no replies.
Sometimes I see routes added (routed is running) so it looks as though
the card is connected to the network. Using EtherPeek ( a ethernet
sniffer) I see nothing from my machine.
I tried adding an arp entry for the host I try to ping, and then
I see the ICMP request in tcpdump.

The board works fine under dos ...

Any idea of what I am doing wrong?
