I know that ADAPTEC doesn't like releasing anything in the way of
information about anything let alone their new cards but all I want to
know is what are the available cards (yes I know - RTF FAQ) and what
drivers CURRENTLY exist and what is the best card for NetBSD and for
FreeBSD and (currently I run NetBSD but) which system is more fully
   internet aware..

You can't go wrong buying BusLogic cards. They make cards for every
bus type. They will work with standard drivers that come built into
both NetBSD and FreeBSD.

Are you asking which system, from NetBSD and FreeBSD, is more Internet
aware?? It depends on which one you hook up to the Internet. I think
you would be hard pressed to call either more "Internet aware" than
the other. Both have excellent networking support, if that's what you
mean. And, both come with built-in PPP and SLIP.
