Recent experiences with a DEC PC Lv+ arose the suspicion that something
might be wrong with the 16550 UART chips on the motherboard. 

There has been a fix for 1.1.5.1 sio.c posted some time ago to cope with
this supposed FIFO bug.
does anyone have a copy of this patch and send it to me? Thank you.
