Today I unsuccessfully tried to get the S3 server (XFree86-2.1.1)
running on a Dec PC LPv+ 466 DX 2.

The machine totally locked and I could only push reset to get it alive
again.

I entered the clock values in the Xconfig file as they were reported
from starting X. I wasn't able to log the full output of the server
startup since the machine got frozen during outputting.

It's a S3 86C805 chip with an AT&T 20C490 Ramdac. The clockchip
could be something like Chrontel CH 9294G-S 178G 9350 CHRM 12001-1.

Has anyone gotten this brand of PC working with XFree?
