No, and there never will be.  I had heard Adaptec was not releasing the
required development information on this card to write a driver for it -
or something to that effect.

If you have a 2742 you are SOL.  I would trade it in for a Buslogic 445S.
That card has a great feature set, is quick, and hasn't failed me yet.
