OK, I got it to see the CD-ROM.  I was using the mount command for a
SCSI CD-ROM, and mine's a Mitsumi.  :-)  It's a different device, and
I wasn't paying attention.
Problem solved...
but the ethernet still doesn't work.  Any clues?
