Hi

This is probably and OLD question - but I'm stumped and I can't read my FAQ!

I just tried to install FreeBSD-1.1.5.1-RELEASE and the install worked
fine, but after running extract for the binaries and running config I get
a panic reboot when I try to boot from the hard drive!

The panic happens just after the npx is detected and the kernal tries to
use the hard disk as the root device for booting. I can boot off the floppies
and manually mount the partitions and all looks fine, but I don't know what
to look for so I can't say much...

The hard disk (IDE caviar AND a 1542CF I tried BOTH gives the same problem)
boots the kernal fine during the installation - so my guess is the binary set
 must clobber something.

Is this idea correct?

What must I do to fix this?? I've got TWO panicking boxes now - OOPS...

Rdgs
Ernst
