Another problem with IDE is that it doesn't always work right with master-slave
drives. Sometimes you need to get the same make and model of drive when you go
to a second drive, because of conflicts. It's one of those PC non-standards
where everyone figures it out by trying things until it works.

Could of people I know have been burned that way... they went to get a second
drive and had to hunt around for the same make and model. If it's not being
made any more that can be a burn.
