That's a message from the Seagate driver.  It didn't find one.

That's because you haven't stuck a label on the disk (yet).

I think this is a 'bug/feature' of the floppy disk driver, but I'm not
the expert on the floppy driver by any means.

This is a *hardware* problem.  Either your memory is bad (likely), or
you have a bus-mastering DMA controller that can't go fast enough due
to a slow bus speed.  If you bus is running > 6Mhz, the you have bad
memory.
