On occasion I need to `slip' in to a network of computers
we maintain & correct problems. (These machines are Sparc's running
SunOS 4.x.) When in the office or at home (where I also have a sparc),
this is no problem. However, I need a solution for when I'm
traveling.

I would love to be able to use one of the many available 486
lightweight portables with the PCMIA (?) modems. All I really need is
to be able to slip in & pull up (B+W) xterms from the various machines
on the net. An ethernet interface (direct or thru the PCMIA (?))
would be a big plus. [This in addition to all of the normal things
(emacs, ftp, etc) of a normal unix environment.]

Will any of the publicly available *bsd* systems run on these
notebooks? Are there any gotcha's? How much ram+disk is advisable
for this? I mention NFS so that I can have the bsd source + gcc + etc
sitting on our server disks & not have to lug it around.

Thanks for your comments.

	Kent
