On which system ( FreeBSD, NetBSD, 386BSD, BSDI and which release ) please ?
And what do you mean by account device ?
If you mean process accounting, you need to enable the "accton" command
in /etc/rc in FreeBSD. I think for NetBSD and BSDI it should be the same.
One thing i remember, that on earlier versions accounting was buggy, so
it may not work, if you have an older release.
