386BSD	-- Either toast (0.x) or rumor (1.0), forget it.

FreeBSD -- better hurry and get 1.1.5.1 before the end of July. If you
	   aren't sure about your hacking skills, though, it's the only
	   one to get.

NetBSD -- Definitely the system of choice for deep wizardry. Ported to
	  everything bigger than a Timex Sinclair, it sometimes seems.
	  Installation is still a bit flukey, and it's not got a very
	  aggressive release schedule.
