Then you didn't buy yourself anything.  Either way you've got to "diff -r"
the merged tree against 4.4L when you're done, to make sure that some USL-
contaminated code didn't get merged in by mistake -- and for other reasons.

That's a useful reason (and the reason I'd've done it the FreeBSD way.)
