THis is what I have so far: # grep Smbarnes /etc/passwd Smbarnes:*:150:1:Slip TEst:/tmp:/usr/sbin/sliplogin # grep Smbarnes /etc/slip.hosts Smbarnes 198.65.234.254 198.65.234.8 255.255.255.0 # grep Smbarnes /etc/slip.login 0 9600 Smbarnes `hostname` 198.65.234.8 255.255.255.0 The problem that I am having is that I can dial into the system from home. I get login Smbarnes Password ******* And then the thing disconnects me. # tail /var/log/messages Jul 17 12:57:16 cluster -sliplogin[7130]: Smbarnes login failed: exit status 512n Our ip is 198.65.234.254 I do have a ip for mbarnes: 198.65.234.8 What have I done wrong? -- ******************************************************************** Michael N.
