I have modified a cdplayer program that I received from someone so that
it works fairly reliably with CDs (status reporting doesn't work
yet...) and does not require an X terminal to run. It is straight text
and even allows you to do things like play a music CD and then load and
mount a data CD. Send me E-Mail and I will drop you the source. The
code is written to support either the Mitsumi CD-ROM or the SCSI CD-ROM
drives.
