: Hi!

: I am on HP Vectra 486DX/33 wanting to run XFree86-2.1.
: HP's Manual says mouse is Logitech at IRQ 12, that's all.
: DOS "si" say nothing but a software interrupt #33 Microsoft Mouse Driver at 0019:40D2.
: What about the port address of the mouse? (0x23c is wrong.)

: From Steve Alvey (steve@galadriel.bt.co.uk) recent posting about Thomas Hildmann's
: Alphabook, I tried naively:
: ...
: options ALLOW_CONFLICT_IOADDR
: ...
: device mse0 at isa? port "IO_KBD" tty irq 12 vector mseintr
: ...

: [with in Xconfig;]
: ...
: busmouse	"/dev/mse0"

: The machine reboots upon "startx' after loging the X config.
: Help!

: Thank you a lot

Apologies if my suggestion caused you problems, however you didn't
actually follow my instructions :-) , but it is the solution for a PS/2
type mouse, not a logitech (I probably didn't make this clear with my
wholescale deletion of the original poster's text). If your mouse is
PS/2 or clone then you need:

options ALLOW_CONFLICT_IOADDR

device psm0 at isa? port "IO_KBD" tty irq12 vector psmintr

in your config file

and

ps/2 "/dev/psm0"

in your Xconfig file.

(Phew!! thought for a minute there I had posted duff information!:-)
