I am running NetBSD 0.9 on a 486DX2/66 with 2 16550 serial ports.

I use the system as my PPP link.

I managed to get it working with a Telebit QBlazer by setting DCD
always high.

My problem? The QBlazer only does 9600 bps, so I bought a nice,
used Sportster 14,400. It works with Linux and Coherent with no
problems.

I tried to set it up to run with NetBSD 0.9. I use cu to call up
my PPP connection.

$ cu -l /dev/tty00 -s 57600		# I also tried other baudrates
cu: write: Input/output error # When I try to do AT

And the cu bails out.

I have set both cd and dtr high.

I have tried:

$ sleep 60 < /dev/tty00 &
$ stty -f /dev/tty00 clocal

This changes the stty settings, but it doesn't change the behavior of
the above.

If there is a kernel patch or some other fix please email me
as I have the sources here and I have built kernels.

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!
