Ah, there's the rub. It's not the kernel, its the bootstrap code. I've
built a Compaq kernel on a "spare" 486 clone I found and it still
doesn't work. I've been told that the boot code from 0.0 mixed with a
0.1 kernel does the trick. I'm still checking it out as I only "found"
the 486 a couple of days ago.

I'll post again when I have something new.
