Casale Version 1.45 of rxvt worked with some slight hacking to utmp support and version 1.85 and later work pretty much right out of the box. The only problem is versions > 1.45 and <1.85 that had problems with outputing keyboard i/o to the screen. So just get the latest version from spcot.sanders.com and be happy.
