Pardon me if I scoff because you didn't look at the code in question. An
IETF working group on telnet has apparently been doing it. It's
basically 4.4 BSD telnet with support for Kerberos 4 and Kerberos 5, and
some other stuff.

It's worked fine for me since I snarfed it a few months ago.
